ICD Section IX Philippine Islands will host a golf tournament fundraiser for the ICD Centennial, supporting the induction of new Fellows and travel to Nagoya in 2020. The tournament will be held at the Alabang Golf and Country Club in Manila,and will be sponsored by UNILAB, Inc., Petron, San Miguel and Dona Gregoria Villareal Foundation, Inc. 100 participants are expected.
The 2019 International Council Meeting will be in held Milan, Italy at the Rosa Grand. Councilors are encouraged to make plans early for best prices and choices. Final planning for the Centennial will be announced along with details on registration, tours, and programming. More information will be available in the coming months.
On the Monday before our Annual Meeting, ICD Section I USA is planning to hold a golf scramble, the Centennial Classic, with proceeds to benefit the USA Section Foundation. Teams will be chosen on the basis of handicap (please remember that Integrity is one of our guiding principles), with Fellowship and fun first and foremost. We envision golf balls emblazoned with the ICD logo on one side and the logo of our major sponsor on the other.
Non-golfing volunteers will be needed for registration, photos, contests, and drink cart driving.
The ICD Section I USA will hold its Centennial celebration and convocation in Orlando, Florida, USA on Oct. 16, 2020, at Walt Disney World’s EPCOT Center. This sleek, striking, contemporary space is adaptable for up to 2,000 guests with entertainment. Guests can also enjoy the evening’s grand finale “IllumiNations: Reflections of the Earth”. The evening will be full of cultural highlights and 100th-anniversary specials.
The grand finale of the College Centennial will culminate during the Gala and Banquet at the Tokyu Nagoya Hotel. This event will feature interactive exhibits of ICD historical moments and people, from 1920-2020, portraying those who have contributed to the creation and development of the world-renowned institution. Photographs, interactive totems, multimedia contributions and other material will testify to what has been done during the first centenary of the College.
